By car: to be completely sure you're following these instructions as precisely as possible, turn the trip switch on your car's speedometer to zero when you reach either the BATHFORD roundabout or the BOX traffic lights (both along the A4).
From the roundabout at the end of the A4 Bath bypass at Bathford (trip switch set to 0):
- Follow the A4 eastbound, signposted Chippenham/Box
- After approximately 0.5 miles you will leave the built up area and pass the two national speed limit signs on either side of the road.
- After 1.0 mile you will approach a right hand bend along the A4, with a 40 mph speed limit sign.
- At this point prepare to turn right, leaving the A4 by driving under the Shockerwick railway bridge painted with yellow and black chevrons, signposted with the height restriction 15.3”.
- If you pass the ‘Wiltshire welcomes you’ signpost on your right hand side, you've gone too far!
- Continue up this wide, quiet road for a further third of a mile until your tripometer approaches 1.5 miles.
- At this point you will see a lone wooden telegraph pole on the mown verge to your left and the short entrance slope to Home Orchard is directly to your right.
From the traffic lights at Box along the A4 or A365 (trip switch set to 0):
- Just past the Bear Pub on the A4, or The War Memorial Cross if travelling on the A365, travel west down the A4, past the three 40 mph signposts.
- After 0.3 miles turn left having passed the ESSO petrol station/Budgens of Box (Open 24hrs) driving between the two 30 mph signs, signed Ashley.
- If you pass the Nissan garage on the right hand side of the A4 you've gone too far!
- Continue up the hill, past the phone box and ‘Littlemead’ cul-de-Sac, driving straight through and out the otherside of the village, passing and ignoring the turning to ‘Doctors Hill.’ After 0.8 miles you will leave the village and pass through two national speed limit signs.
- Continue driving down this quiet rural hill, beneath the trees
- After 1.0 mile you'll pass the detached house ‘Broadlands’ on your left, and continue past a Sycamore tree and a driveway to Ashley Lodge

- Drive in between the two large oak gate posts and park within the left hand parking bay directly in front of you, marked 'No. 5'
Access to No. 5 is via lockbox, though Christabel & Daniel are just up the drive should you need them.
